Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 10-day assignment starting Feb 18, 2026, in California. This role requires working in a very high acuity, fast-paced urgent care environment, with shifts including 5 eights or 3-4 twelves and mandatory weekend availability. The practitioner will manage a diverse range of urgent cases, from complex workups for chest pains and sepsis to general respiratory issues across all age groups.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform full workups for high acuity walk-in patients presenting with a wide range of conditions including chest pains, abdominal pains, sepsis, appendicitis, obstruction, diverticulitis, dizziness/vertigo, surgical workups, and early DKA.
  • Interpret EKG and CXR results.
  • Manage MRI and Ultrasound processes.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removals.
  • Provide care for patients across the age spectrum, from newborns (1-2 weeks old) to geriatrics, including those with RSV babies and general respiratory issues.
  • Utilize all available lab capabilities with STAT results provided within one hour.
  • Understand and facilitate direct admissions to the hospital or referrals to the operating room when necessary.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine is required.
  • Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.
