Job Description

Our client in California is seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment starting May 18, 2026. This role involves managing high volume, high acuity cases with shifts typically 10 to 12 hours long, including weekend coverage. The successful candidate will perform various procedures such as laceration repair, ingrown toenail removal, and fracture management, operating independently in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage high volume, high acuity patient cases.
  • Perform STAT labs, X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds.
  • Conduct laceration repair, ingrown toenail removal, and fracture management.
  • Execute incision and drainage (I&D) procedures.
  • Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory results.
  • Function independently in an urgent care setting.
  • Comfortable with patient work-ups in a hybrid-style urgent care.
  • Work schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, or Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
  • Shifts are 12 hours (9 AM - 9:30 PM) or 10 hours (11 AM - 9:30 PM).


Additional Information

  • Required Board Certifications: Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) and Urgent Care.
  • EMR: Epic.
