Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment in California, commencing Jun 1, 2026. This role involves managing various urgent care cases, including high acuity situations, with a schedule comprising four non-consecutive nine-hour shifts per week, as the clinic is closed on Sundays.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform various urgent care duties
  • Manage high acuity, fast-paced urgent care cases
  • Apply ED experience to diverse patient needs
  • Interpret EKGs and X-rays
  • Provide care for urgent and same-day visits, including sore throats, upper respiratory symptoms, earaches, coughs, backaches, headaches/migraines, and bladder/urinary tract infections
  • Treat minor injuries such as ankle/wrist sprains, lacerations or cuts to extremities (arms, fingers, legs, toes, facial, scalp), and contusions
  • Utilize full lab capabilities for diagnostics
  • Focus on cases excluding chest pains and IVs


Additional Information

  • Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine is required
  • Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred
  • The schedule involves 4 nine-hour shifts per week, not consecutive, with varied days. The clinic is closed every Sunday.
