 We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Urgent Care for a locum tenens position in Maine. This opportunity offers a 120-day assignment starting on 08/04/2025, at a Hospital setting. The schedule is flexible, with options for Monday through Friday shifts from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm or 8 am to 4 pm, based on the provider's preference. The role involves covering a walk-in clinic adjacent to a primary care clinic, serving a predominantly geriatric population. Responsibilities include managing various acute conditions, performing diagnostic tests, and providing comprehensive urgent care services.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide urgent care services in a walk-in clinic setting

• Manage a diverse patient population with a focus on geriatric care

• Perform diagnostic tests including COVID-19, strep, and upper respiratory testing

• Administer injections and provide wound care

• Treat common urgent care conditions such as upper respiratory issues, tick-related concerns, and gastrointestinal problems

• Assess and manage acute conditions like knee pain

• Provide care for pediatric patients

• Utilize Meditech EHR for patient documentation and management

• Collaborate with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals

• Ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery


Additional Information:

• Active Maine Nurse Practitioner license required

• Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred

• Comfort with treating patients across all age groups, including pediatrics

• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
