Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina starting Oct 13, 2025. This autonomous role features a rotating schedule of 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours, providing essential urgent care services in a fast-paced environment.

  • Schedule: 8am-8pm weekdays, 8am-4pm weekends; 36/40 rotation most weeks (Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday)

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Independently provide urgent care services to a high patient volume (40+ patients per shift)
  • Manage a variety of acute presentations typically seen in urgent care settings
  • Work collaboratively within a streamlined team structure (provider, medical assistant, front desk)
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records using Epic EMR
  • Obtain and maintain DOT certification as required
  • Uphold standards of care and ensure patient safety
  • Demonstrate flexibility with rotating shift schedules

Additional Information
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina
  • At least one year of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine required; new graduates will not be considered
  • Must be able to work autonomously
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certification required
  • DOT certification required (may obtain independently if not already held)
