Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This 6-week opportunity begins on Dec 1, 2025, and offers 12-hour day shifts with a holiday schedule adjustment. The ideal candidate will be board certified, have at least one year of urgent care experience, and be comfortable performing procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.

  • Schedule: 8:00AM-8:00PM; Dec 1, 15-16, 22-24; Christmas Eve 8:00AM-4:00PM

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Diagnose and manage urgent care cases, including cold, cough, flu, and upper respiratory infections
  • Treat lacerations and perform procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal
  • Perform additional procedures such as fishhook and toenail removal if skilled
  • Prescribe medications, including narcotics if comfortable and appropriate
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, especially during periods of high COVID patient volume

Additional Information
  • Board certification required
  • Must possess ACLS, BLS, and DOT certifications (preferred)
  • Active North Carolina license required
  • Minimum of one year urgent care experience
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
