Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. Starting Dec 16, 2025, this full-time role features a rotating schedule with 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours, requiring the ability to work autonomously and float among nearby clinics.

  • Schedule: Rotating 36/40 schedule. Weekdays: 8am-8pm; Weekends: 8am-4pm. Every other weekend required. Example: Week 1—Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2—Monday, Thursday, Friday.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Independently provide urgent care services to a high volume of patients (40+ per shift)
  • Work collaboratively with a medical assistant and front desk support in a streamlined team model
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment within the scope of urgent care
  • Accurately document clinical information and maintain thorough patient records
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with DEA certification
  • Float between assigned clinics as required by the rotation schedule

Additional Information
  • Must have active Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications required
  • Must be able to work autonomously and handle high patient volumes
  • DOT certification is a plus
  • Not accepting new graduate candidates
