Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina, starting Dec 29, 2025. This role features a 36/40 rotation with 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend shifts, providing care in a setting staffed by a provider, medical assistant, and front desk.Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide autonomous urgent care services to a high-volume patient population (40+ patients per shift)
- Work collaboratively with a medical assistant and front desk staff
- Conduct assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute illnesses and minor injuries
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
- Prescribe medications according to DEA regulations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations
Additional Information
- Must have an active Nurse Practitioner license for North Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of urgent care or emergency room experience required; new graduates will not be considered
- Must be able to work independently
- DOT certification required (provider must obtain if not current)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certification required
