Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 2-week locum tenens assignment with our client in North Carolina. This opportunity starts on Dec 20, 2025, and features weekend shifts: Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-6pm. The ideal candidate will be board certified and possess at least one year of urgent care experience, with proficiency in key procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Evaluate and treat urgent care cases including cold, cough, flu, upper respiratory infections, and lacerations
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage (I&Ds), and foreign body removal
  • Preferred skills include fishhook and toenail removal
  • Prescribe medications, including narcotics if comfortable
  • Collaborate with RNs, especially during high volumes of COVID patients
  • Utilize clinical judgment for urgent care presentations

Additional Information
  • Board certification required
  • ACLS, BLS, and DOT certifications preferred
  • Must have at least one year of urgent care experience
  • North Carolina license required
