Responsibilities and Duties
Evaluate and treat patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and infections.
Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage (I&D), wound care, and abscess management.
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans.
Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for necessary patient referrals or transfers.
Educate patients and families on follow-up care and the appropriate use of urgent care services.
Maintain thorough electronic medical records and adhere to state regulations and hospital protocols.
Additional Information
Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Experience with Meditech EHR preferred
Previous experience in urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care settings is highly desirable.
