Responsibilities and Duties
Evaluate and treat walk-in patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent but non-emergent conditions
Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and abscess management
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs
Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans
Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for escalations, transfers, or referrals as needed
Educate patients and families on follow-up care, prevention, and appropriate use of urgent care versus emergency services
Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations
Additional Information
Previous urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care experience required
Must be skilled in suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound management
Experience managing diverse patient populations across all ages
Ability to order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs independently
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Proficiency with Meditech EHR preferred
Strong adaptability and communication skills
