Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Oregon. This opportunity begins on Dec 8, 2025, and spans 120 days, featuring a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week between 9a and 7p across three clinics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in urgent care procedures and thrive in a fast-paced, community-based environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Evaluate and treat walk-in patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent but non-emergent conditions
  • Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and abscess management
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs
  • Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for escalations, transfers, or referrals as needed
  • Educate patients and families on follow-up care, prevention, and appropriate use of urgent care versus emergency services
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations

Additional Information
  • Previous urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care experience required
  • Must be skilled in suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound management
  • Experience managing diverse patient populations across all ages
  • Ability to order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs independently
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Proficiency with Meditech EHR preferred
  • Strong adaptability and communication skills
