Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 65-day locum tenens assignment in California. Starting Dec 1, 2025, this position offers day shifts, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts scheduled from 6am to 2pm. The ideal candidate will have recent emergency room and urgent care experience and be adept at handling same day and next day appointments, as well as walk-ins, in a rapid care environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide patient care for a mix of emergency room and urgent care cases (rapid care)
  • Manage same day and next day appointments, as well as walk-in patients
  • Conduct clinical assessments and perform necessary procedures within the scope of urgent and emergency care
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
  • Document all patient encounters using the Epic EMR system
  • Adhere to established protocols and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements

Additional Information
  • Must have recent ER and urgent care experience
  • Active California license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • Assignment dates may vary dependent on credentialing
