Job Description

Our client in California is seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for an active 10-day assignment beginning Feb 9, 2026. This role requires working 9AM-9PM, four days per week, in a high-acuity, fast-paced urgent care setting. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for comprehensive case management, including various procedures and full workups, utilizing on-site CT, ultrasound, and lab capabilities.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform full scope, fast-paced urgent care, similar to an emergency department environment.
  • Manage high-acuity cases, including full workups for patients presenting with chest pains, abdominal pains, sepsis, appendicitis, obstruction, diverticulitis, and dizziness/vertigo.
  • Conduct surgical workups, address early DKA, rule out chest pains, and interpret EKG and CXRs.
  • Oversee direct admissions to the hospital and direct patient transfers to the operating room.
  • Provide care for newborns (1-2 weeks old) to geriatric patients, including those with RSV and general respiratory issues.
  • Manage MRI and ultrasound cases, and perform procedures such as toenail removal.
  • Utilize on-site CT, ultrasound, and comprehensive lab capabilities, with all lab results available STAT within one hour.
