Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This opportunity begins on Aug. 25, 2025, offering a schedule of 12-hour shifts, weekdays from 8 AM to 8 PM and weekends from 8 AM to 4 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a high-volume patient flow, seeing over 40 patients per day, and working autonomously in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive patient care autonomously in an urgent care setting
  • Manage a high volume of patients, with the expectation of seeing over 40 individuals per shift
  • Utilize Epic EMR system to document patient interactions, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Coordinate with medical assistants and front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow and care delivery
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of urgent care practices and protocols

Additional Information

  • Must possess a North Carolina PA license
  • Required to obtain DOT certification independently if not already certified
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications are required
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage high patient volumes
