Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. Starting Oct 13, 2025, this role features a rotating 36/40-hour week schedule with 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours. The provider will work autonomously alongside a medical assistant and front desk staff, seeing a high volume of patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

  • Schedule: 36/40 rotation most weeks; Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday. Shift hours are 8am-8pm weekdays and 8am-4pm weekends.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver autonomous urgent care services to a diverse patient population
  • See 40+ patients per shift in a high-volume environment
  • Collaborate with a medical assistant and front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Perform examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
  • Utilize Epic EMR for clinical documentation and workflow
  • Maintain compliance with all required certifications and state licensure
  • Obtain or maintain DOT certification as required

Additional Information
  • Must have at least 1 year of urgent care or emergency room experience
  • New graduates will not be considered
  • Must hold an active North Carolina license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certification required
  • Ability to work independently is essential
  • DOT certification required or must be obtained prior to start
