We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. Starting Oct 13, 2025, this role features a rotating 36/40-hour week schedule with 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours. The provider will work autonomously alongside a medical assistant and front desk staff, seeing a high volume of patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Schedule: 36/40 rotation most weeks; Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday. Shift hours are 8am-8pm weekdays and 8am-4pm weekends.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver autonomous urgent care services to a diverse patient population
See 40+ patients per shift in a high-volume environment
Collaborate with a medical assistant and front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow
Perform examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
Utilize Epic EMR for clinical documentation and workflow
Maintain compliance with all required certifications and state licensure
Obtain or maintain DOT certification as required
Additional Information
Must have at least 1 year of urgent care or emergency room experience
New graduates will not be considered
Must hold an active North Carolina license
Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certification required
Ability to work independently is essential
DOT certification required or must be obtained prior to start
