Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina, starting Dec 16, 2025. This full-time opportunity features a rotating schedule with 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours, working autonomously in a clinic setting with high patient volumes.

  • Schedule: Rotating 36/40 schedule; weekdays 8am-8pm, weekends 8am-4pm; every other weekend required. Example: Week 1—Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2—Monday, Thursday, Friday.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide autonomous urgent care services for a diverse patient population
  • Manage high patient volumes, averaging 40+ patients per shift
  • Perform assessments, diagnostics, and initiate treatment plans
  • Collaborate with medical assistants and front desk staff in a streamlined workflow
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
  • Float between nearby clinics as needed to support clinical operations
  • Adhere to all clinical and regulatory standards

Additional Information
  • Must hold a valid North Carolina PA license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certification required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently; not accepting new graduates
  • DOT certification is a plus
