Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 2-week locum tenens assignment in North Carolina, starting Dec 20, 2025. This weekend-focused role features shifts on Saturday (9am-6pm) and Sunday (10am-6pm), providing care for a high volume of urgent cases in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Evaluate and treat patients presenting with cold, cough, flu, upper respiratory infections, lacerations, and similar urgent care needs
  • Perform procedures including suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal
  • Preferred experience with fishhook and toenail removal procedures
  • Prescribe medications, including narcotics if comfortable and clinically indicated (not mandatory)
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, with RNs handling most COVID swabbing
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

Additional Information
  • Board certification is required
  • ACLS, BLS, and DOT certifications preferred
  • Minimum of one year of urgent care experience required
