Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Oregon beginning Dec 8, 2025. This 120-day opportunity features 10-hour day shifts, four days a week, rotating among three clinics with alternating schedules. The role is ideal for a provider skilled in high-volume urgent care, acute care procedures, and managing patients of all ages in a dynamic, community-based environment.Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluate and treat walk-in patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent but non-emergent conditions
- Perform procedures including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and abscess management
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics (labs, X-rays, EKGs) to guide treatment
- Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans
- Partner with physicians and hospital staff for escalations, transfers, or referrals requiring higher-level care
- Educate patients and families on follow-up care, prevention, and appropriate use of urgent care versus emergency services
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations
Additional Information
- Previous urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care experience required
- Proficiency in common urgent care procedures (suturing, splinting, I&D, wound management)
- Must be comfortable with all age groups
- Experience with Meditech EHR
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Strong adaptability and communication skills essential
