Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in Texas, starting Mar 13, 2026. This contract requires flexibility to work AM or PM shifts, including 8-hour and 15-hour schedules. The provider will serve as the sole clinician on site and must be prepared to manage a full spectrum of urgent care cases independently.

  • Schedule: AM shift 8am-4pm; PM shift 3pm-11pm; 15-hour shift 8am-11pm. Rotating combinations of 8- and 15-hour shifts. Flexibility required for both shift types.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Serve as the sole provider in an urgent care setting
  • Independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urgent care cases and procedures
  • Manage patient flow efficiently and ensure timely care
  • Close all patient charts by the end of each shift
  • Adapt quickly to a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate readiness to begin work without clinical training or orientation

Additional Information
  • Must have at least 2 years of recent urgent care experience
  • Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in Texas
  • Ability to work both 8-hour and 15-hour shifts as scheduled
  • Contract is initially for 36 days with likelihood of extension
