Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Urgent Care Needed in TX

Job Description

Our client in Texas is seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 6-day assignment beginning Mar 10, 2026. This role involves managing a variety of urgent care cases, often requiring the provider to work autonomously for significant portions of the 8:30am - 7pm shifts in a 2-provider clinic setting. Responsibilities include treating common illnesses and injuries, performing minor procedures, and interpreting diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive urgent care services to patients of all ages.
• Manage a diverse range of cases including colds, strep throat, UTIs, and medication refills.
• Address minor injuries such as broken bones, splints, and lacerations.
• Perform physical examinations, sutures, and toe nail removals.
• Insert IUDs and accurately interpret X-ray images.
• Operate as the sole provider for approximately half of each day within a two-provider clinic.

• Scheduled shifts are from 8:30am - 7pm.
