We are seeking a Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 50-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia beginning Jan 5, 2026. This role features a schedule of 7am to end-of-case, Monday through Thursday first assist or floor coverage, with weekend call and rounding. Schedule: 7am to finish/last case; Monday-Thursday first assist in the OR or floor coverage; Saturday and Sunday rounding with MD and assisting with OR cases; call coverage includes 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month, with adjustments for vacation coverage
Responsibilities and Duties
First assist in the operating room or provide floor coverage as assigned
No post-operative clinic responsibilities
Participate in call coverage: responsible for floor calls from nursing and outpatient families overnight when on call, always in coordination with an MD
Stay for second OR cases after 4/5pm if needed and not pre or post call
On weekends, round with the MD and assist with OR cases
Take nursing and home calls Friday-Sunday per call schedule
Additional Information
Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Virginia
Required board certification: Vascular Surgery
Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
Must provide vascular surgery case logs
