We are seeking an experienced Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant for a 50-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting Jan 5, 2026. Provider Type Needed: Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant
Schedule: Monday-Thursday first assist in OR or floor coverage, 7am to end of last case; Saturday and Sunday rounding with MD and assisting in OR; average call of 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month (Friday 7am through Monday 7am)
Responsibilities and Duties
First assist in the operating room for vascular surgery cases
Provide floor coverage for surgical patients
Participate in weekend rounding with the physician and assist with OR cases
Take call coverage: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month, responsible for floor calls from nursing and outpatient families overnight
Remain available if two ORs are active past 4/5pm when not post or pre-call
Saturday and Sunday: manage nursing and home phone calls from 7am to 7pm
Collaborate with attending physicians during all on-call shifts
Additional Information
Must have active Virginia license
Required board certification in Vascular Surgery
Must provide vascular surgery case logs
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and DEA certification required
The assignment does not include post-op clinic duties
