Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Wound Care for a 45-day locum tenens assignment in Illinois, starting 09/22/2025. This flexible, per-assessment based position involves providing home health care services, primarily focusing on wound care patients. The NP will work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a schedule determined weekly in agreement with the client. The role requires expertise in diabetic wound care, ulcers, venous and pressure sores, chronic wounds, and familiarity with L graphs. The NP will conduct mobile visits to patient homes, assisted living facilities, and other residential care settings, working independently with support from clinical and administrative teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Perform wound care procedures, including debridement and application of advanced dressings
• Utilize negative pressure wound therapy, MIST therapy, and other evidence-based treatments
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on wound care management and prevention
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Maintain compliance with Medicare documentation and billing standards
• Participate in periodic training, audits, and quality assurance reviews
Additional Information:
• Illinois nursing license required
• Wound Care Certification preferred
• Experience in home health care settings essential
• Strong communication and time management skills required
