Job Description

 Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Wound Care Physician Assistant for a 158-day locum tenens assignment in California. Starting on 07/07/2025, this position requires expertise in wound care, including debridement, catheter replacement, and feeding/G tube replacement. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 8am to 4pm each week. The PA will travel between five contracted facilities to provide treatment for chronic and traumatic wounds. This opportunity offers a chance to work in diverse healthcare settings and may include the possibility of extension beyond the initial assignment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform wound debridement on chronic and traumatic wounds

• Replace catheters and feeding/G tubes as needed

• Assess and treat various types of wounds across multiple facilities

• Develop and implement wound care treatment plans

• Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Woundally software

• Travel between five contracted facilities

• Adhere to all wound care protocols and best practices

• Participate in care coordination with primary care providers and specialists


Additional Information:

• Must be a licensed Physician Assistant with active California license

• Certification in wound care strongly preferred

• Experience in wound debridement and device replacement required

• Comfort with traveling between multiple healthcare facilities

• Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independently

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility to adapt to different facility protocols and patient needs

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
