Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated Wound Care Physician Assistant to join our client in Washington for a 120-day assignment starting Mar 2, 2026. This role involves 8-hour shifts, focusing on comprehensive wound management, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and pressure ulcers. The Physician Assistant will perform various procedures such as debridement, incision and drainage, negative pressure wound therapy, and manage long-term IV antibiotics, while also identifying candidates for hyperbaric oxygen therapy and making appropriate specialty referrals.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide specialized wound care, hyperbaric treatment, and consults for hospital-based wound care.
  • Manage a variety of wound types including diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and pressure ulcers.
  • Address surgical dehiscence's and open surgical wounds.
  • Perform procedures such as debridement, incision and drainage, and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).
  • Conduct bone biopsies and apply total contact casting.
  • Implement compression wrapping techniques.
  • Manage long-term IV antibiotics for the treatment of osteomyelitis.
  • Identify candidates for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) and supervise HBO treatments.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including ABIs, TCOM, vascular ultrasounds, and x-rays.
  • Make appropriate referrals to specialties such as vascular surgery, general surgery, podiatry, and orthotics/prosthetics specialists.
  • Manage patient volumes of 10-18, with occasional additional HBO patients and inpatient/ER consults.
