Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Anesthetist for an engaging 120-day locum tenens assignment with our client in Pennsylvania, starting Aug 3, 2026. This role involves a flexible schedule with potential for callback, providing comprehensive anesthesia care including general, spinal, and monitored anesthesia care. The Anesthetist will manage a diverse caseload across specialties such as orthopedics, trauma, neurosurgery, and pediatric cases for patients aged five and up, excluding cardiac, obstetric, and regional blocks.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assess, prepare, and manage patients for anesthesia care during the perioperative and procedural period.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive anesthetic plans.
  • Perform history and physical examinations, obtain informed consent, and conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and post-operative assessments.
  • Administer general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia (preferred), and monitored anesthesia care (MAC).
  • Perform invasive monitoring and placement, including CVP/CVC, pulmonary artery catheterization, and intra-arterial lines.
  • Execute effective airway management techniques.
  • Manage anesthesia for a wide range of procedures including general, orthopedics, trauma, plastics, neurosurgery, pediatrics (ages five and up), endoscopy, NORA, robotic surgery, gynecology, and ENT cases.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is required.
  • EMR system utilized is Cerner.
  • This role operates under medical direction, with a CRNA/anesthesiologist ratio of 2:1 or 3:1.
  • Overtime must be approved by department administration.
  • Lunch breaks are not compensated, and providers are expected to clock in and out for lunch.
