Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 14-day assignment in Ohio, starting Jun 1, 2026. This role involves 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts, handling routine cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy, VATS, and occasional ECMO, alongside vein harvesting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts.
  • Work schedule includes 7 AM to 5 PM rounding or 6 PM to 6 AM call shifts.
  • Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
  • Handle occasional ECMO cases; however, this role does not involve further advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplants.
  • Perform vein harvesting, utilizing Maquet Hemopro 2 for endoscopic procedures.
  • For call shifts, if the provider is local, they must be within a 30-minute range from the hospital. If not local, accommodation will be provided in a nearby hotel.
  • Expect to be called in approximately 7% of shifts, with most calls manageable over the phone.
