Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Physician for a locum tenens position at an outpatient facility in New York. This 90-day assignment begins on 06/30/2025, with a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating a range of conditions including substance use disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, eating disorders, OCD, and sexual abuse. The physician will work directly with patients and their families, managing medication levels and providing consultations on medication effectiveness. This role focuses on patients transitioning from inpatient psychiatric care to outpatient treatment, offering a chance for extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for children and adolescents in an outpatient setting

• Treat a variety of mental health conditions including substance use disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, eating disorders, OCD, and sexual abuse-related issues

• Work directly with patients and their families to develop and implement treatment plans

• Manage medication regimens and provide consultations on medication effectiveness

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Utilize Athenahealth electronic health record system

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records

• Provide follow-up care for patients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient treatment


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in New York

• Board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry required

• Proficiency in Athenahealth EHR system preferred

• Possibility of assignment extension
