Job Description

Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Dentist for a 48-day locum tenens position at a dental clinic in Oregon. Starting on 04/28/2025, this assignment offers a full-time schedule of Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a full scope of general dentistry, including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions (simple, complicated, and surgical), dentures, root canals, and pediatric dental procedures. The position involves working with a diverse patient population, including a significant number of pediatric patients. This role utilizes the Dentrix practice management system and offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 48-day period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Perform a full range of general dentistry procedures
  • Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and treatment planning
  • Provide restorative treatments including fillings, crowns, and bridges
  • Perform simple, complicated, and surgical extractions
  • Deliver root canal treatments and manage endodontic cases
  • Fabricate and fit dentures
  • Treat pediatric patients, including procedures such as stainless steel crowns, pulpotomies, and pulpectomies
  • Manage and treat dental emergencies
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Dentrix software
  • Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists to ensure efficient patient care
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure effective communication with patients and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in general dentistry


Additional Information:


  • Oregon dental license required
  • Experience in general dentistry essential, including comfort with a wide range of procedures
  • Strong skills in pediatric dentistry preferred
  • Familiarity with treating Oregon Health Plan (OHP) patients beneficial
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Comfortable with a diverse patient population
  • Potential for assignment extension
