We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Mississippi. This role involves working in a Trauma Center, primarily handling a variety of cases with the support of a larger hospital nearby for more critical conditions. The locum will act as the sole provider during shifts, offering a unique opportunity to apply and expand their emergency medicine skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive patient care in an emergency setting
  • Perform essential procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage (I&D)
  • Manage patient care from initial assessment to discharge
  • Ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions and decisions
  • Handle a patient volume of 30-50 per 24-hour day


Additional Information

  • Must have 2+ years of experience as a sole provider or highest ranking provider in an Emergency Department
  • Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and DEA
  • Candidates must already possess a DEA license valid in Mississippi
  • No new graduates; experience in a similar emergency setting is crucial
