Job Description

 Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Alaska, starting 06/18/2025. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services in a rural setting for patients of all ages at a Multi-Specialty Clinic. The work schedule offers flexibility with either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 6 PM. Key responsibilities include managing a wide range of primary care cases, from common illnesses to chronic conditions, as well as performing various procedures and preventive care services. This opportunity requires proficiency in Epic EHR system and offers a chance for extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages in a rural setting

• Diagnose and treat common illnesses such as cold, cough, and flu

• Manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and COPD

• Perform women's health services, including Pap smears and pelvic exams

• Conduct well-child appointments and address pediatric health concerns

• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances when appropriate

• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, fish hook removal, and wound care

• Handle new and existing clinic appointments and medication refills

• Manage appointment windows ranging from 30-60 minutes, targeting 20-40 minute windows


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Alaska

• Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system required
