Experienced Family Practice Nurse Practitioner needed for a locum tenens assignment in California. This 20-day opportunity, starting 05/05/2025, involves working at a fast-paced clinic providing both family practice and urgent care services. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The role encompasses a wide range of primary care services, including well and sick exams, chronic disease management, treatment of common illnesses, emergency room follow-up care, immunizations, physicals, pregnancy testing, and STD testing and treatment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing walk-in patients in a dynamic environment. This position offers potential for extension and requires an active California NP license.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Conduct well and sick exams for patients of all ages
• Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma
• Diagnose and treat common illnesses
• Provide emergency room follow-up care
• Administer immunizations
• Perform routine physical examinations
• Conduct pregnancy testing
• Perform STD testing and provide appropriate treatment
• Manage walk-in patients in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Nextgen EMR (or paper charting for assignments less than 2 weeks)
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed
• Ensure adherence to all clinic policies and procedures
• Stay current with the latest developments in family practice and urgent care
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in California
• Family Nurse Practitioner certification required
• Experience in both family practice and urgent care settings preferred
• Proficiency with Nextgen EMR system a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs
• Willingness to see walk-in patients and manage diverse cases
