Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Hematology/Oncology for a locum tenens position in California. This opportunity offers a 60-day assignment starting on 06/30/2025, at a Hospital setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient Hematology/Oncology care, including rounding on inpatients, managing various blood disorders and cancers, performing bone marrow biopsies, and working in an infusion center. This role requires immediate proficiency and the ability to handle a diverse range of hematological and oncological conditions.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive care for Hematology/Oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Perform daily rounds on inpatient units

• Conduct bone marrow biopsies

• Manage patients with conditions such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and lymphoma

• Work in a 45-chair infusion center

• Complete discharge notes and conduct thorough chart reviews

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team

• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and management

• Adapt quickly to the facility's protocols and procedures


Additional Information:

• Active California Physician Assistant license required

• Extensive experience in Hematology/Oncology essential

• Proficiency in bone marrow biopsies mandatory

• Strong clinical skills in managing complex hematological and oncological cases

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Must be able to start immediately without additional training
