Job Description

Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position in New York. This 120-day assignment begins on 05/05/2025, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing a wide range of hematological and oncological conditions, including sickle cell disease, anemia, neutropenia, hemophilia, hepatocellular carcinoma, leukemia, lymphoma, and thalassemia. There is also a chance for an extension with this job.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Diagnose and treat patients with various hematological and oncological conditions 

• Manage cases of sickle cell disease, anemia, neutropenia, and hemophilia 

• Provide care for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, leukemia, and lymphoma 

• Treat and monitor patients with thalassemia 

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care 

• Conduct patient consultations and follow-up appointments 

• Interpret laboratory results and imaging studies 

• Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies 

• Provide patient and family education about diagnoses and treatment options 

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records 

• Participate in tumor boards and case discussions as needed 


Requirements: 

• Active New York state medical license 

• Board certification in Hematology and Oncology 

• Experience in managing a wide range of hematological and oncological conditions 

• Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
