Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist for a 14-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio, starting 05/20/2025. This opportunity involves working at a hospital, providing oncology services in both Kenton and Marion clinics, with some weeknight call coverage. The schedule includes weekday shifts from 8:30am to 5pm, weeknight call from 4pm to 8am, and weekend coverage from 8am to 8am. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing general medical oncology cases, including chemotherapy and oral chemotherapy administration. This role utilizes the Epic EMR system and offers the possibility of extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care for adult patients

• Manage chemotherapy treatments, including oral chemotherapy

• See 15-20 patients per day in outpatient clinic settings

• Handle a 50/50 mix of hematology and oncology cases

• Place orders for treatments and medications

• Sign outpatient notes and provide thorough report-offs

• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and nursing staff

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Epic EMR

• Participate in weeknight call coverage as scheduled

• Stay updated on current hematology and oncology practices and treatment protocols

• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis


Additional Information:

• Ohio medical license required

• Board certification in Hematology and Oncology preferred

• Experience in managing a diverse range of hematology and oncology cases required

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Comfort with working in different clinic locations (Kenton and Marion)

• Flexibility to handle weeknight call and weekend coverage as needed
