Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for an 84-day locum tenens assignment at a hospital in Vermont, starting 07/14/2025. This opportunity requires coverage for 12-hour day shifts (7 AM to 7 PM) on a week-on, week-off schedule, Monday through Sunday. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing ventilators, handling diabetes patient consults and procedures, and performing admits, discharges, and transfers in a unit. Responsibilities include patient rounding, consults, and occasional collaboration with other specialties. This position offers the chance to work in a hospital setting using Meditech EHR, with a possibility for assignment extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage patient care in a unit, including ventilator management

• Conduct diabetes patient consults and related procedures

• Perform patient admits, discharges, and transfers

• Carry out daily patient rounds and provide necessary care

• Collaborate with other specialties for patient consults as needed

• Utilize Meditech EHR for documentation and care management

• Work closely with the General Surgery Department for line placements

• Coordinate care with Emergency Department and Anesthesiology teams

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Ensure high-quality patient care and maintain professional standards

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

• Stay updated on the latest hospitalist care guidelines and best practices


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Vermont

• Hospitalist experience required

• Comfort with ventilator management and diabetes care essential

• Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
