We are seeking a skilled Physician specializing in Infectious Diseases for a locum tenens position at a healthcare facility in Texas. This 30-day assignment begins on 07/02/2025, with 8 to 9-hour shifts for inpatient care and evening on-call responsibilities. The physician will be responsible for managing pneumonia, transplant patients, and other related conditions. Duties include conducting rounds, follow-ups, consults, and post-operative care. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a diverse range of infectious disease cases and be prepared for 24-hour on-call periods when not on-site.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct rounds on adult inpatient infectious disease unit 

• Perform follow-ups, consults, and post-operative care 

• Manage cases including pneumonia, transplant-related infections, and other infectious diseases 

• Provide on-call coverage for 24-hour periods when not on-site 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EMR 

• Ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to infection control protocols 

• Participate in case discussions and treatment planning 

• Stay updated on current infectious disease trends and treatment modalities

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in Texas 

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred 

• Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex infectious disease cases 

• Excellent communication skills for effective patient and team interactions 

• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and potential complications
