 Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Pathologist for a locum tenens position at a Laboratory / Diagnostic Center in Texas. This opportunity offers coverage for 15 days, starting 06/18/2025, with specific dates in June and July. The assignment involves working from 7 AM to 4 PM, focusing on microscopic and frozen cases, anatomic pathology, cytology, and women's health screening. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ThinPrep, HPV, and GC/CT testing from the same sample. No grossing is involved in this role. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform microscopic examinations of tissue samples
  • Handle frozen section cases as needed
  • Conduct anatomic pathology and cytology analyses
  • Specialize in women's health screening procedures
  • Interpret ThinPrep, HPV, and GC/CT tests from single samples
  • Provide accurate and timely diagnoses
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using SoftPath system
  • Dictate pathology reports efficiently and accurately
  • Adhere to all laboratory policies and quality control measures
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pathology techniques
  • Participate in any necessary staff meetings or consultations


Additional Information:

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in Texas
  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology required
  • Experience in women's health screening preferred
  • Proficiency in SoftPath system and dictation is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Flexibility to work full weeks during the specified dates
