Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist for a locum tenens assignment through Barton Associates. This opportunity is located in Arizona and requires coverage for 52 days at a correctional facility, starting 06/30/2025. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility on days and hours. The role involves crisis intervention, managing acute psychotic cases, overseeing mental health programs, conducting screenings and evaluations, performing sick call and chronic care visits, and conducting rounds in all units. The psychiatrist will use TechCare for patient management and documentation.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide crisis intervention and manage acute psychotic cases
• Maintain overall clinical responsibility for mental health programs
• Oversee completion of mental health screenings and evaluations
• Perform sick call visits and chronic care visits
• Conduct rounds in all units
• Utilize TechCare for patient documentation and management
• Collaborate with correctional staff and other healthcare professionals
• Adhere to all facility protocols and safety standards
• Develop and implement treatment plans for inmates
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Provide mental health education to staff and inmates as required
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Arizona
• Experience in correctional or forensic psychiatry is preferred
• Proficiency in TechCare is beneficial
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed
