Job Description

Our client in Indiana is actively seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for an 84-day assignment beginning May 25, 2026. This role requires night shifts from 7p-7a, focusing on daily inpatient rounding in ICU and stepdown units, managing new consults, and facilitating patient discharges. The successful candidate will typically manage 10-15 patients daily, contributing to a total census of 20-30 patients.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform daily rounding on all inpatients, including ICU and stepdown units.
  • Manage new consults and facilitate patient discharges.
  • Oversee an average of 10-15 patients daily, with a typical total patient census of 20-30.
  • Provide critical care services, specifically no first assist responsibilities.
  • Manage adult cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve procedures, and aortic dissections, often involving high-acuity patients.
  • Conduct thoracic surgeries, primarily robotic procedures but also VATs and thoracotomies, covering all thoracic cases except esophageal.
  • Perform open vascular surgeries such as CEA, AAA, and leg revascularizations.
  • Care for heart failure patients, including those requiring LVAD, ECMO, and Impella support.
