Orlando Florida is home to the country’s busiest hospital, at least in terms of average daily census. On the average day, Florida Hospital Orlando treats approximately 1,657 patients, excluding newborns. The second-busiest hospital, New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center (NYP/Weill Cornell), isn’t far behind with an average daily census that is 10 shy of Florida Hospital. Interestingly, the New York hospital actually logs more total patient days than Florida Hospital Orlando. The other hospitals on the list don’t come close to Florida Hospital and NYP/Weill Cornell’s numbers. The third place hospital, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, treats 1,278 per day, almost 400 fewer than NYP/Weill Cornell.
