As the years go by, the baby boomers of the world are feeling the effects of the passage of time; creaky joints, chronic illnesses, and endless doctor appointments. When combined with the introduction of the Affordable Care Act, which brings healthcare insurance to over 30 million Americans, the healthcare job market is in a marked stage of growth. Since 1990, healthcare jobs have grown from 8.2 million to 14.8 million in 2014. Furthermore, healthcare careers are rated some of the best in the country. The US News and World Report recently published its list of the top 100 jobs of 2015, and placed dentists, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants all in the top 10 according to salary, employment rates, growth volume, and stress levels. With the healthcare provider shortage compounded with the increasing tide of healthcare demand for access, healthcare companies have begun to transition their cultures to attract and keep the best and the brightest. Fortune recently surveyed the best places to work in the healthcare sector, and found the top 20 who rated highest for employee satisfaction.
